What is The Daily Moo?
The Daily Moo is a blog where I write, write and write to my heart's content. And then I write some more. I blog about my life experiences, a few stories, learnings, food, books and more. Mostly the things I'm passionate about.
Why The Daily Moo?
Over the years, this blog has had several names that were changed because they were no longer appropriate. After a lot of pondering, I finally decided on this one because:
a) Moo, is something I got from Joey's legendary line in FRIENDS. This is all like a cow's opinion, doesn't matter, it's Moo!
b) I love cows. No, not to eat! They are gentle, loving creatures that have the most beautiful eyes.
c) I do not blog daily, just regularly enough. But the Bi-weekly Moo or the Alternate-Day Moo just sounds weird.
Who am I?
I'm Sumitra. I live in Bangalore, with my husband. I write, I blog, I read. It's pretty much what I do all day. And I get paid to do most of it! Isn't that awesome? I'm living the dream, people. Well, my dream at least. Go to the page that says "My Work" to read more of my work.
I started off like all students in India do. I did the run-of-the-mill stuff. I studied Engineering. I could wrap my head around it, but I just wasn't passionate about it. I spent about five years working for Dell and Google. And then I had enough. I just wanted to do something I loved, whether I made money or not. I'm still looking, but for now, writing is my biggest passion. No, it doesn't pay as much as my earlier jobs did, but I'm not complaining. This is something I'd even do for free!

WIIFM?
WIIFM stands for What's in it for Me, in case you're wondering. It's one of the first things I learned when I started my career. It was a huge concept in Dell. So if this is what is in your mind, if you're going like "WIIFM if I read this blog?" here goes:
a) Someday, I will be a great, bestselling author and you will have the privilege of being one of my first readers! No, I'm just kidding.
b) A good read. This is what I hope and strive to provide with every post. Just a good read.
c) A community. I believe this is what blogging is really all about. Sharing, learning, exchanging, discussing. I hope to hear a lot from you in terms of comments, feedback and opinions. It's only the beginning, I'm excited about where this will go.
d) I have a few exciting things planned for this blog. So, please stick around and be pleasantly surprised!
